Kiln formed Art and Awards
Created by K. Keiko Okahashi

"The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity." Alberto Giacometti

"THE GLASS EARTH" (c) 2003 K. Keiko Okahashi is a special award plate commissioned by a group in San Francisco, California.  Layers of glass chunks create the beauty of our earth.  Special inscription is created with 23k gold.

We welcome special commissions for awards and events.

Offering bowls are often used in religious and spiritual rituals.  Some folks just prefer to bring vibrant colors into their surroundings, others choose to place a candle in it signifying the flame of our spirit.  One can be created just for you with the colors that speak to you.

Prayer bowls:
In Keiko's quest to bring our spiritual selves to a tangible state, it was a natural progression to create prayer bowls.
This bowl incorporates deep blues, turquoise and greens all swirled together almost like a mandala.

Maples:  This striking bowl brings together the beauty of fall with the falling maple leaves at dusk.   Keiko learned this technique from master glass artist Roger Thomas and she couldn't wait to see if she could capture a similar style in her work.
